Raiders receive sound piece of advice from All-Pro player

It is an uncommon occurrence for players to give their opponents advice, especially when they happen to be their next opponent.

However, during the joint practice between the Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers, something odd appeared to happen. On one set play, 49ers tight end George Kittle saw Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby line up in a four-point stance right on top of him. The ensuing run went for a good gain, with Kittle and 49ers right tackle Colton McKivitz neutralizing Crosby on the play.

During his media availability, Kittle noted the play and gave the Raiders some advice they would be wise to take heed of.

Kittle stated an obvious factor that will be critical to the Raiders’ success.

Giving his observations of the Raiders, Kittle had one simple ask of head coach Pete Carroll and defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.

“They’re flying around and celebrating each other,” Kittle said, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “That’s a Pete Carroll team. That’s what they do. I like the vibe here. Let Maxx Crosby be Maxx Crosby, and they’re going to have a great year.”

It makes sense for Kittle to be confused about Crosby’s alignment, especially when the latter is one of the best edge rushers in the NFL. Kittle even admitted as such during his interviews.

“When you get to go against Maxx Crosby, you have to take advantage of those reps, because if you’re going against guys who are premier at what they do, it will make the rest of the season easier when you’re going against guys that might not be as good as them,” Kittle said.

Hopefully, the Raiders leave the experimentation to other players and leave Crosby to doing what he does better than almost anyone else on the planet.
