The Las Vegas Raiders struck gold last April when they selected Georgia tight end Brock Bowers with the No. 13 pick in the NFL Draft. On Tuesday, Bowers appeared on "Up & Adams" and discussed the team's new minority owner, Tom Brady. When Kay Adams askedĀ him what it was like meeting Brady and if he had talked to him about his legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski, Bowers gave her a unique response.
"It's awesome. I mean, it's like you're talking to a movie star," said Bowers on talking with Brady. "We didn't talk very long, but he just said (Rob Gronkowski) is awesome. I've met Gronk before; he is awesome."
Bowers broke almost every conceivable receiving record for a Raider and a rookie tight end during his first NFL season. Despite poor quarterback play, he amassed 112 catches for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns en route to First-Team All-Pro honors and a Pro Bowl appearance.
There might not be a greater player in NFL history to converse with and bounce ideas off of than Tom Brady, especially for a young offensive player. This was at the core of Mark Davis' decision to bring Brady aboard as a minority owner last October, and the team's young players are already reaping the benefits of the relationship.
