The Los Angeles Rams are making moves to bolster their offensive line, signing veteran tackle D.J. Humphries to a one-year deal worth $2 million. The former Arizona Cardinals standout brings experience and reliability to a unit that has faced injury concerns in recent seasons.

Humphries, a 2021 Pro Bowler, has started 98 career games, primarily at left tackle. His ability to anchor the edge and provide stability in pass protection makes him a valuable addition, especially with Alaric Jackson dealing with a recurrence of blood clots that previously sidelined him in 2022.

The 31-year-old spent his first eight seasons in Arizona before briefly joining the Kansas City Chiefs last year. However, injuries limited his playing time, and he didn’t appear in the Super Bowl. Now, with a fresh start in Los Angeles, Humphries has a chance to re-establish himself as a key contributor.

For the Rams, protecting Matthew Stafford remains a top priority. The veteran quarterback has battled injuries in recent seasons, and ensuring he has a clean pocket is crucial for the team’s success. Humphries’ presence provides depth and insurance, giving the Rams flexibility in case Jackson’s health remains a concern.

While Humphries has dealt with setbacks, his track record suggests he can still be an effective piece in the Rams’ offensive scheme. If he stays healthy, he could play a significant role in keeping Stafford upright and helping Los Angeles push for another playoff run.
