The Los Angeles Rams and running back Kyren Williams agreed to a big extension on Tuesday.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Rams signed Williams to a three-year, $33 million extension with $23 million guaranteed. This is a big deal since Williams is a major part of Sean McVay's offense.
Williams is one of the best running backs in the NFL and had the best season of his career in 2024, finishing with 316 carries for 1,299 yards and 14 touchdowns. He added 34 receptions for 182 yards and two touchdowns as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.

Williams played in 12 games during the 2023 season, compiling 228 carries for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also had 206 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
McVay loves using Williams in any situation, and he is a tough running back to get down once he gets going. He has been in the NFL for three seasons and was a fifth-round pick out of Notre Dame in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Rams will need him at his best this upcoming season if they want to win another Super Bowl. They are all-in after restructuring quarterback Matthew Stafford's contract and signing wide receiver Davante Adams earlier this offseason.
Adams forms a strong one-two punch with Puka Nacua at wide receiver after the Rams let go of Cooper Kupp.
The Rams will play three preseason games before opening the regular season at home against the Houston Texans on September 7. Kickoff will be at 4:25 p.m. ET.
