The Los Angeles Rams bounced back from consecutive losses in impressive fashion Sunday, defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 35-21 at Allegiant Stadium. Behind a strong performance from quarterback Matthew Stafford and a dominant rushing attack, Los Angeles built a significant first-half lead and held off a late Raiders comeback.
The victory improved the Rams to 3-4, giving them a much-needed boost as they attempt to climb back into the NFC playoff picture. Meanwhile, Las Vegas dropped to 3-4 after suffering its fourth consecutive defeat.
Stafford delivered an efficient performance, completing 23 of 29 passes for 195 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. His three touchdown passes also made him the Rams’ all-time leader in passing touchdowns with 155, moving past former quarterback Roman Gabriel.
Two of Stafford’s touchdown passes went to tight end Davis Allen, who found the end zone for the first time this season. Stafford also connected with Puka Nacua for an 11 yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Nacua finished with eight receptions for 68 yards despite entering the game with questions surrounding a calf injury. His presence gave the Rams another reliable target as they looked to generate momentum early.
Los Angeles scored touchdowns on four consecutive drives in the first half, taking a commanding 28-6 lead into the locker room.
The Rams also received a major contribution from running backs Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Williams rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown, while Corum added 93 yards and another score.
Williams’ 17 yard touchdown run late in the first half extended Los Angeles’ advantage and put the Rams firmly in control.
Las Vegas struggled to establish its rushing attack, finishing with just 48 yards on the ground. Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 26 of 44 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns, but the Raiders had difficulty sustaining drives early in the contest.
Las Vegas made things interesting in the fourth quarter when Cousins connected with Tre Tucker for a 37-yard touchdown. After Stafford threw an interception, Cousins found Ashton Jeanty for another touchdown, bringing the Raiders closer.
However, both two-point conversion attempts failed, limiting the comeback.
Corum responded with a four yard touchdown run to restore the Rams’ comfortable advantage. The Raiders added a field goal, but Los Angeles controlled the closing minutes to secure the victory.
The win gives the Rams an opportunity to build momentum after a difficult stretch. For the Raiders, the losing streak continues, and improving their rushing production will be a priority moving forward.
