Jalen Ramsey is two seasons removed from playing for the Los Angeles Rams. The three-time first-team Associated Press All-Pro almost certainly won’t be with the Miami Dolphins for a third go-round. Sean McVay hasn’t fully ruled out a reunion with Ramsey.
“Usually, those are scenarios and situations that you have to have plans in place prior to executing some of the decisions that have occurred,” McVay said, via the Rams’ team website. “Definitely don’t want to rule anything out because we’re always open-minded to onboarding and acquiring quality players and people like him if we’re able to do that, but there would be some obstacles that are real that are in the place of maybe preventing that from occurring.”
Ramsey started all 17 games for Mike McDaniel’s team last season. He pulled two interceptions and had 11 passes defended.
“Because the news first came out (in the) middle of April … I thought a deal would be done right after June 1,” Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio said. “That’s when the cap hit can be spread over two years. It didn’t happen. Here we are June 18, it hasn’t happened. I assume that something’s gonna happen right around the time training camp opens, but who knows?”
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler proposed the Rams give up fifth- and sixth-round picks and cash considerations to get Ramsey. Fowler’s colleague, Dan Graziano, suggested a seventh-round choice.
Ramsey previously spent three-plus campaigns playing under McVay and general manager Les Snead. Along with Aaron Donald, he helped the Rams win Super Bowl LVI in 2022.
