Kam Curl might want to avoid watching the Madden 26 trailer too many times. The Los Angeles Rams' defensive back found himself on the wrong end of a brutal ankle-breaker courtesy of Saquon Barkley, and the clip is already making the rounds online.
The play, featured in EA Sports’ latest gameplay reveal, showcases Barkley’s signature elusiveness. As he takes a handoff, he plants hard with his left foot, sending Curl lunging forward. Just as Curl reaches, Barkley cuts back to the right, leaving the Rams' safety grasping at air. The move is so sharp that Curl’s momentum carries him a few extra yards before he can recover, while Barkley accelerates downfield untouched.
It’s a fitting highlight for Barkley, who was officially named the Madden 26 cover athlete. The Eagles star has long been known for his ability to make defenders look foolish, and this latest clip only adds to his reputation.
Curl did not seem too happy about how he was included in the trailer, and he took to social media to share his thoughts on the video.
"Lmao I ain't playing madden this year (expletive)."
The Rams will get another shot at Barkley this season, with a Week 3 matchup against Philadelphia looming. After watching the trailer, Curl might have extra motivation to make sure Barkley doesn’t embarrass him again, this time in real life.
