Rams OL Andrew Whitworth, LB Ernest Jones will play vs. 49ers

With just over 48 hours to go until kickoff for their NFC Championship Game against the San Franciso 49ers, the Los Angeles Rams received some notable injury updates on Friday.

The 40-year-old Whitworth was limited to 30 snaps on offensive (50%) in the team's NFC wild-card game against the Arizona Cardinals and was ruled out ahead of the divisional round game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a knee injury. The four-time Pro Bowler played in 15 contests this season -- all starts -- and was on the field for 100% of the offensive snaps in 11 of them.

A third-round rookie, Jones hasn't played since injuring his ankle since Week 16 against the Minnesota Vikings. He finished his first NFL season with 61 tackles, four passes defended and two interceptions across 15 games, including seven starts.

Van Jefferson made a big jump in his second NFL season, starting all 17 games for the Rams and seeing his numbers go up across the board. The 25-year-old deep threat -- who injured his last week against Tampa Bay -- finished second on the team in targets (89), receiving yards (802) and receiving touchdowns (six), while placing third in catches (50).

Taylor Rapp was also a starter in all 17 regular-season tilts for Los Angeles, but has missed the first two playoff games due to a concussion. The third-year pro ended the 2021 campaign second on the squad in tackles (94) and tied for first with All-Pro Jalen Ramsey for the team-high in interceptions with four.
