The Los Angeles Rams have a great one-two punch at wide receiver going into the 2025 season.
Puka Nacua is entering his third season and has established himself as one of the top receivers in the NFL. As a rookie, he finished the 2023 season with 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns. He followed up that season with 79 receptions for 990 yards and three touchdowns last year. Nacua easily would've gone over 1,000 yards again if he didn't miss six games.
Davante Adams signed a two-year contract with the Rams when free agency opened and will replace Cooper Kupp after the Rams released him. Despite now being 32, he compiled his sixth 1,000-yard season in 2024, finishing with 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns.
The Rams could still use a bit more depth at wide receiver, which is why Bleacher Report's Moe Moton predicts that they will sign free agent Amari Cooper before the season starts.
"At 31, coming off a down year, Amari Cooper isn't going to break the bank in his first offseason as a free agent. As a perennial postseason contender, the Rams could appeal to the five-time Pro Bowler who may want a chance to play in the Super Bowl at this stage in his career," Moton writes.
Cooper split the 2024 season with the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills, compiling 44 receptions for 547 yards and four touchdowns. He can still be a productive WR3 on a contending team if given the chance.
Let's see if that bold prediction comes true since the start of the 2025 season is less than two months away.
