Myles Garrett is now on the Los Angeles Rams after being traded by the Cleveland Browns on June 1. Garrett was sent to Los Angeles in exchange for Rams outside linebacker Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round draft pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick.

The 6-foot-4 defensive end was unstoppable in 2025, finishing with 60 tackles, three forced fumbles and 23 sacks. The 30-year-old broke the previous record of 22.5 sacks that was shared by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt in 2021 and former New York Giants edge rusher Michael Strahan in 2001. Garrett is third among active players in career sacks with 125.5.

Now, ahead of the 2026 NFL regular season, it appears there is another list that Garrett finds himself atop. On Thursday, the NFL announced that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen finished at No. 2 overall for the NFL Top 100 Players of 2026. The Rams did the math and deduced that the No. 1 spot is reserved for their newly acquired pass rusher.

For Los Angeles, the player rankings put their roster near the top in terms of the most talent in the NFL. Along with Garrett, the rest of the Rams on the list are as follows:

  • No. 4 — quarterback Matthew Stafford
  • No. 7 — wide receiver Puka Nacua
  • No. 53 — wide receiver Davante Adams
  • No. 84 — linebacker Byron Young
  • No. 89 — running back Kyren Williams

This is the first time in his career that Garrett finished No. 1. The previous year’s finishes for Garrett are as follows.

  • 2025 — No. 8
  • 2024 — No. 5
  • 2023 — No. 20
  • 2022 — No. 11
  • 2021 — No. 16
  • 2020 — No. 80
  • 2019 — No. 49

“Top of the top ,” the Los Angeles Rams wrote on Instagram.

Los Angeles will open the 2026 regular season with the NFL’s first-ever international game in Australia, with head coach Sean McVay leading his team into battle against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, Sept. 10, at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
