It has not been a great year for the Los Angeles Chargers and quarterback Justin Herbert.

The Chargers fell to 0-7 with a 24-9 loss against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. in Week 8. Herbert threw two interceptions, and Rams safety Quentin Lake had one of them.

Lake then had a brutal assessment of Herbert.

“He was throwing deli meat out there,” Lake said about Justin Herbert. “He’s seeing ghosts.”

It was Lake’s third interception of the season, and he stepped right in front of the receiver and made the easy pick.

Justin Herbert has thrown for 1,398 yards with only 5 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Herbert threw 13 interceptions all of last season, and he had 10 combined interceptions in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Herbert has now thrown an interception in every game this season, and Sunday’s loss marked his third two-INT game of the year.

The Chargers’ struggles have been surprising, and Herbert himself was spotted looking sad on the sideline at the end of the game against the Rams (video here).

Herbert and LA face the Houston Texans on Sunday, and the Chargers are the NFL’s lone winless team.
