Rashee Rice facing new lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is facing a disturbing lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend.

Dacoda Jones, Rice’s long-term girlfriend and mother of his children, accused Rice of choking, strangling, scratching, hitting, and headbutting her over a 19-month period between December 2023 and July 2025. The lawsuit was filed this week in district court, according to TMZ, and also accuses Rice of violent behavior that took place while Jones was pregnant.

The allegations are similar to those Jones made publicly last month. She is seeking over $1 million in damages, but did not specify an exact amount.

Rice was already being investigated by the NFL over Jones’ allegations, and the league maintains the right to discipline the wide receiver even if he is not charged or found liable in court. He already served a six-game suspension last season stemming from a reckless driving incident that resulted in Rice ultimately pleading guilty to two felony charges and being sentenced to jail time.

The Chiefs have stood by Rice this far in spite of his previous legal troubles.
