Rashid Shaheed fits in with the Seattle Seahawks perfectly in the sense that he's not the Super Bowl winner you think. The 27-year-old wide receiver was a solid receiving option for the New Orleans Saints, catching for 2,055 with 14.9 yards per reception. However, he struggled to find consistent production in a team that didn't have a solid quarterback.
His numbers took a dip when he joined the Seahawks, but he was still a reliable option for Sam Darnold and Mike Macdonald. In the nine games he played for Seattle, he caught the ball 15 times for 188 yards on 12.5 yards per carry.
His contract situation paints an interesting picture. He was on a one-year deal when he made it to the Northwest because the Saints didn't want to invest resources in him while they were still in a rebuild.
Seahawks fans who are worried about Shaheed's NFL future will be delighted to know that the veteran wideout is not interested in going anywhere.
NFL.com's Eric Edholm reports about the Super Bowl LX winner's offseason plans during a conversation with NFL Media senior national columnist Judy Battista and NFL Network's Bridget Condon, with one of the burning topics being whether he would return to the team he won a Super Bowl with.
Shaheed didn't hide his preferences.
"Absolutely, absolutely, yeah," Shaheed said. "Conversations are definitely going to be heating up towards March. But you know, I would love to come back. I loved my experience here, I'm loving the Pacific Northwest, and obviously the organization is second to none.
"I kind of want to run it back. We just won the Super Bowl, so, you know, why not?"
It's understandable why he would want to go back to the Seahawks, and fans might also be hoping to bring him and the rest of the team back for 2026.
