Ravens 'confident' in re-creating 2012 Super Bowl run

The Ravens (10-7) have a tall task in front of them as they prepare for their first playoff matchup. However, Baltimore has been in a similar position before and ended up raising a Lombardi trophy.

Head coach John Harbaugh believes his team has the ability to win it all this year for the first time since the 2012 season.

"This team is what gives me confidence about going on a postseason run," Harbaugh told reporters. "This team has what it takes to win at this time of year, and that's what matters."

The Ravens began the Wild Card round of the playoffs at 10-6 about 10 years ago after losing four of their last five games. That team went on to win the Super Bowl. Baltimore is 10-7 this season, and lost three of its last four.

However, there are some differences this time around. Most notably, the status of its starting quarterback is up in the air. Lamar Jackson hasn't played since Week 13.

Winning in the playoffs has never been about style points, and Harbaugh has all of the experience needed to coach his team through the adversity it's faced.

"That's what adversity is for, right? To make you stronger," Harbaugh said. "So, the fact that we've dealt with this type of a season, prepares us for what we're about to get into."

The Ravens take on the Bengals (12-4), whom they split with in the regular season. And all eyes will be on the injury reports as Baltimore could be without Jackson once again.

"What comes to the foreground is doing what you have to do to win a game, win one game," Harbaugh added. "So, that's what we'll be focusing on."
