Ravens DE Calais Campbell undecided on football future

The NFL offseason always comes with a lot of question. The future of Ravens DE Calais Campbell is one of this year's for Baltimore.

Campbell, who is 36 years old, said he needs to take some time to think before making a decision.

"I'm going to give myself a few weeks. I got to go through that process and decide after that," Campbell told reporters. "It's going to be hard to walk away. That's for sure. So, we'll see"

Campbell, who was named the 2019 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, has been an important piece to the Ravens locker room, and he's still playing at a high level, posting 36 tackles, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 2022.

It will be a tough decision for the 15-year veteran, one that may be centered around the return of QB Lamar Jackson. Campbell made it clear he would want Jackson back in 2023.

Campbell does have one year left on his contract with Baltimore. If he decides to play another year, it's likely the team would welcome him back with open arms.

"I'll talk to the front office and talk to the coaches," Campbell added. "There's a chance I could be back here again next year."
