The Baltimore Ravens desperately need a quarterback, and Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones is reportedly an option.
The Ravens are without both Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley for the foreseeable future, and Jones could be an option, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“And some conversations I had early this week made me think the Colts’ Daniel Jones is at least on the radar. Baltimore could essentially sign him without spending a lot because of his struggles. Jones’ $5.5 million base salary is tradable, and his 2027 guarantees don’t trigger until the offseason,” Fowler wrote.
The Colts already traded Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner. Wide receiver Josh Downs has requested a trade, and star running back Jonathan Taylor could be moved as well before the Nov. 10 deadline.
So, Jones is another player who could draw interest. The Ravens are set to start undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano on Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars, so things are looking very bleak in Baltimore.
The Colts signed Jones to a whopping two-year, $88 million deal this offseason. However, the guarantees don’t kick in until the offseason.
Fowler also mentioned Chicago Bears backup Tyson Bagant as an option, but Jones would be a huge upgrade compared to basically anybody else they could sign as a free agent right now, so it’s something to monitor.
