Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has not played since Week 4 after suffering the ankle injury that has already ruled him out of three consecutive games.
Jackson, however, is expected to return to the starting lineup Sunday against the Buffalo Bills after being sidelined the last three weeks with a high ankle sprain.
CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported Thursday that Jackson is “on track to being able to return this week and play Sunday vs. the Bills,” handing out the clearest indication yet that Baltimore expects its star quarterback.
“Not only was a full participant in practice yesterday but also handled all of the first-team QB work,” Zenitz reported. “A good sign regarding his status heading into this weekend.”

Jackson was limited in all three practices last week and was listed as questionable before ultimately being ruled inactive for Baltimore’s 35-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Wednesday, however, marked Jackson’s first full practice since the injury.
The Ravens went 1-2 during Jackson’s three-game absence and have dropped their last two games, falling from first to last place in the AFC North and heading into Sunday with a 4-3 record.
Before the injury, Jackson completed 70.8% of his passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns and one interception through four games. Jackson added 144 rushing yards on 19 carries and one touchdown on the ground while averaging 7.6 yards per carry.
Baltimore’s offense struggled without Jackson in their latest loss, with the Ravens leading Cincinnati 13-0 at halftime before collapsing and being outscored 35-0 in the second half with backup Tyler Huntley at quarterback.
The Ravens scored at least 17 points in Jackson’s four starts earlier this season, but only topped 13 points once (an overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons) in the three games without him.
Barring a setback, Jackson is expected to make his return Sunday as Baltimore visits Buffalo at 1 p.m. ET.
