Ravens make powerful statement in dominant win over Broncos 

Just as concern about the Ravens was mounting, Baltimore showed up and put its best effort on display against the Broncos. Lamar Jackson led the Ravens to a convincing 41-10 demolition of Denver on Sunday, moving Baltimore's record to 6-3.  

Jackson was efficient in the game - he completed 16-of-19 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns - but a major positive sign for the Ravens beyond just winning was being able to dominate without having to rely on their former two-time MVP quarterback to take over the game. Baltimore won in old school Ravens fashion: running the ball and defense.  

Veteran running back Derrick Henry led the charge, running for 106 yards and scoring a pair of touchdowns. Wide receiver Zay Flowers had one of the best games of his young career, making five receptions for 127 yards with two touchdowns. 

"He (Henry) is different. He's adding a dimension we haven't had before," said Ravens head coach John Harbaugh when asked about what adding Henry has meant to his team. 

This statement performance also came on the heels of a devastating loss last week. Baltimore fell 29-24 at the hands of the struggling Cleveland Browns, allowing Jameis Winston to throw for 334 yards and three touchdowns against a Ravens defense that is usually a staple for strong play. That loss snapped a five-game win streak for Baltimore and cost the Ravens positioning in the AFC North race. 

But now, after taking it to a Broncos team that entered the week having won five of its last six with and looking capable of a playoff push, Baltimore can make its argument that the Cleveland loss was an aberration.

In addition to winning without another super hero-like showing from Jackson, Baltimore proved it could be a force to be reckoned with based on how well the defense played. The 10 points allowed by the Ravens defense tied the lowest total all season, matching what they gave up in a big win over Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills back in September. 

All in all, everything went right for Baltimore on Sunday and the Ravens officially put the rest of the league on notice once again. 

If the defense can keep up this intensity and Jackson can rely on his teammates as much as he was able to against Denver, the Ravens should be in the mix as a true contender in the conference.  

"I thought the red zone defense was amazing," Harbaugh noted. 

Baltimore now has to get focused all over again, with back-to-back division matchups with the Bengals (4-5) and Steelers (6-2) on deck.
