The Baltimore Ravens have made an announcement regarding the injury to quarterback Lamar Jackson, and it is not positive news.

Jackson will require surgery on his injured thumb and be placed on injured reserve, coach Jesse Minter said after Sunday’s game. Minter added that there is a chance Jackson’s injury could be season-ending.

Because he is going on injured reserve, Jackson will miss a minimum of four games. The quarterback will miss games against the Jaguars, Chargers, Panthers, and Texans as a result.

Jackson had missed the last three games due to an ankle problem, but was cleared to play Sunday. His return was supposed to breathe new life into Baltimore’s season, but he left the game after just one play due to the injury. The Ravens ultimately lost 36-10 to the Buffalo Bills and were down to their third-string quarterback by the end of the contest.

Jackson had featured in four games on the season before getting hurt Sunday. He threw for 967 yards with six touchdowns and one interception. Those might wind up being his final numbers if he cannot come back in 2026.
