Ravens star CB Marcus Peters returns to practice less than one year after ACL injury

It was less than a year ago when Marcus Peters suffered a torn ACL and missed the entire 2021 season. Things are looking much better for the veteran cornerback in 2022, as he joined in practice on Monday for the first time since sustaining that injury.

As multiple sources have noted, the Ravens are not expected to rush Peters back into playing mode. It is still a promising sign, though, that Peters passed his physical and was able to take the field.

Peters' injury was just one of many that stymied Baltimore last season. As CBS Sports reminds us, Peters has more interceptions (31) than any other corner since he came into the league in 2015. Add the other injuries Baltimore's secondary sustained last season, and it's no wonder the Ravens went from having one of the most feared defenses in the league to being one of the easiest to figure out.

There is no word yet on when Peters may be able to join the team full-time. The Ravens continue preseason play this weekend with a Sunday night game against the Arizona Cardinals.
