Ravens star Marlon Humphrey calls this Eagles duo the best in NFL

Philadelphia's cornerback duo of Darius "Big Play" Slay and James Bradberry played lights-out in 2022 as the Eagles advanced to the Super Bowl. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey called them the NFL's best CB combination.

At the halfway mark last season, NFL.com ranked Slay and Bradberry as the league's two best shutdown corners. The final 2022 numbers back up that claim.

In 2022, the Eagles' defense ranked third in yards allowed (5,125), with Slay and Bradberry playing vital roles. The corners each had three interceptions as Philadelphia posted the league's third-best turnover differential, per The Football Database

Starting quarterbacks posted a passer rating of 90 or higher only five times against Philadelphia's defense last season, according Pro Football Reference's box scores. Those quarterbacks were Aaron Rodgers (Packers), Ryan Tannehill (Titans), Daniel Jones (Giants), Justin Fields (Bears) and Dak Prescott (Cowboys).

Bradberry's 17 pass deflections were the third most in the league last season, behind only Jets rookie sensation Sauce Gardner and Rams star Jalen Ramsey, per StatMuse

Earlier this month, both players re-upped with the Eagles, with Slay getting a three-year, $42 million extension and Bradberry a three-year, $38 million contract.

With their star corners locked in place, the Eagles can spend the rest of the offseason focusing on strengthening other areas of the roster.
