Ravens’ Week 2 matchup is giving the Browns some extra bulletin board material — and it didn’t come from Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens are entering into Week 2 as heavy favorites for their home opener against the Cleveland Browns. Baltimore, who is fresh off of their latest frustrating fourth-quarter collapse, is looking to bounce back into the win column and sort out some of the issues that sprung loose in the fourth quarter of their 41-40 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Most everyone expects the Ravens to climb back into the win column on Sunday — and convincingly, too. The Ravens are double-digit favorites against the Browns, despite it being a rivalry that has found some semblance of balance in recent years. Over the last eight matchups between the Browns and Ravens, each team has won four times.

The oddsmakers appear undeterred — and the Browns are noticing.

Raven's Week 2 opponents set to enter matchup with a chip on their shoulder

"(The Week 2 odds are) definitely disrespect, but we just have to go in there and take care of business regardless of what people may think and who they’ve got winning or losing the game,” veteran cornerback Denzel Ward said via Mary Kay Cabot. “We have to go in and try to beat the odds. They put us against the odds, we’ve we got to go in there and try to beat it.”

Ward was not the only player to take note, with Jerry Jeudy also chiming in that the odds for the game were "disrespectful". And while Baltimore and Cleveland do sit on opposite ends of the spectrum with their 2025 season outlooks, the Browns do have the recent history of the rivalry on their side. Now — every team is it's own each and every year. This year's teams are still largely undefined. But while Cleveland is likely looking at all those fourth quarter passing yards Baltimore gave up last week to Buffalo, Joe Flacco's cape doesn't fit like Josh Allen's.

Cleveland will certainly be entering this game with an edge and something to prove. Baltimore's hunger to scratch into the win column must account for that to offset the extra motivation the odds have given the Browns for Sunday.
