Ravens’ Zay Flowers back in action after injury absence

On Thursday, the Baltimore Ravens hit the field for practice as they continue their preparations for the upcoming 2026 NFL season. Star wide receiver Zay Flowers has been out of the lineup in recent days due to an undisclosed lower body injury.

However, on Thursday, the team got a positive update on his status, as he was back in uniform for practice, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter. Hensley also noted that “Only one Ravens player (was) not practicing Thursday: WR Devontez Walker.”

It’s certainly a good sign for the Ravens moving forward that their best wide receiver was back on the field and healthy after the mysterious lingering injury.

Flowers signed a lucrative contract extension earlier this offseason to keep him in Baltimore over the long haul, and although some fans questioned whether he was worth the immense figures, the move ensured that Lamar Jackson will have one of the league’s top speedy weapons at his disposal for years to come.

Flowers has made some big plays over the years in Baltimore, including an epic late touchdown in last year’s thriller against the Pittsburgh Steelers to close out the regular season, although he is still looking to fully overcome his big fumble in the 2023 AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

This year, the Ravens are looking to get off to a much better start after two straight seasons of stumbling out of the gates. That quest will begin on September 13 when they hit the road to take on the Indianapolis Colts.
