The Los Angeles Rams utilized limited draft capital in the 2025 NFL Draft after trading their first-round pick to the Atlanta Falcons. However, even though the Rams’ 2025 draft class lacked the volume of most, they still excelled at putting together an efficient draft class. In contrast with most NFL teams, the Rams’ draft picks do not jump off the page as potential gamechangers, but they did fill specific roles that Los Angeles needed to reinforce.
By the end of the 2025 season, Los Angeles showed how effective their approach was. The team stayed atop the NFC standings all season. They finished the year by playing in the NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams’ draft class proves that finding impact players does not require a large number of picks.
| Player | Round (Pick) | Position |
| Terrance Ferguson | 2 (46) | TE |
| Josaiah Stewart | 3 (90) | EDGE |
| Jarquez Hunter | 4 (117) | RB |
| Ty Hamilton | 5 (148) | DL |
| Chris Paul Jr. | 5 (172) | LB |
| Konata Mumpfield | 7 (242) | WR |
The Rams’ second-round draft pick, tight end Terrance Ferguson, immediately filled a hole at the tight end position for Los Angeles. Ferguson demonstrated the ability to be a dynamic athlete in the Rams’ offense, catching 11 passes for 231 yards and 3 touchdowns. Selecting a Day 1 starter was a significant success for Los Angeles and contributed to their 2025 season.
Similar to Ferguson, Rams third-round draft pick Josaiah Stewart stepped right in as a rotational player on the Rams’ defense. In addition, Stewart plays with a high motor and is well-positioned to grow significantly as a player over the next several seasons. Los Angeles also got production out of seventh-round draft pick Konata Mumpfield. While NFL teams use their late-round picks to add a player that could be a reach to make their roster, the Rams got immediate value from adding Mumpfield to their roster at the wide receiver position.
The ability to select players that give an instant return for the Rams on-field success is a key factor in the Rams sustained success over the years. While only selecting six players in the draft, the ability of three of those six players to contribute during their first season in the NFL makes this class a great example of efficiently scouting and selecting players that fit the needs of the team. Despite not having a “crown-jewel” prospect from this class, they did add critical support players the were able to get on the field in a short amount of time.
