Report: 4 More NFL Head Coaches Expected To Be Fired

Brian Callahan's firing from the Tennessee Titans on Monday may have been a sign of things to come for others around the league.

The Titans chose to move off their young HC just six games into the season following a 1-5 start that brought his overall record in Music City to 4-19.

Tennessee's 3-14 performance last year earned them the No. 1 pick where they selected Cam Ward out of Miami. But despite being an offensive coach, Callahan's unit only scored 83 points through six games (the franchise's lowest total in four decades).

Now according to NFL insider Josina Anderson, other teams could look to follow suit when it comes to their struggling head coaches as the season continues.

League insiders expecting 'multiple' HC changes

Taking to social media to start the week, Anderson shared what she's been hearing about the upcoming coaching carousel following Callahan's firing.

"Spoke to a league source who tells me they’re currently* expecting 5 NFL head coaching changes, that includes the Titans," Josina wrote to X. "One of said teams has a star player expressing frustration to ownership. Another team, no one is really talking about now. Could be looking for new scenery next year. Will keep you posted."

"Some top personnel changes already simmering as well on a couple teams minimum," she added. "One in each conference."

Titans release statement on Callahan firing

Speaking during his press conference on Monday night, Titans president Chad Brinker opened up about why the organization chose to make the decision it did.

"We just felt like this was the right time to make a change," Brinker said. "We were looking for growth in this football team, and that's what this is about right now. We're not seeing enough growth from this football team."

Tennessee reportedly intends to give interim coach Mike McCoy "every opportunity" to earn the full-time job with his performance over the Titans' remaining 11 games — the first of which comes former HC Mike Vrabel and the red hot New England Patriots.
