REPORT: Alabama defensive coordinator Kevin Steele plans to retire

Just one week after the conclusion of the 2023 season, Alabama will be entering another coaching search for a major position on its staff.

According to a report from ESPN’s Chris Low, the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator Kevin Steele plans to retire from coaching.

This past season was Steele’s third different stint at Alabama to go with his 40 years in coaching at spots that include Tennessee, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Baylor, Florida State, Clemson, LSU, Auburn and Miami. He also spent time in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers.
