The Bengals are reportedly releasing safety Nick Scott a year after signing him to a three-year deal. The move saves Cincinnati $2.3 million in cap space after bringing Geno Stone into the safety room this week (Scott had $2 million in dead money on a $4.3 million cap hit).
Adam Schefter reported the release as the safety had two years left on the deal.
Scott struggled with a 44 overall PFF grade across 569 snaps this past season, eventually ceding his starting role to rookie Jordan Battle.
