Report: Cowboys 'doing due diligence' on eight-time Pro Bowler Von Miller

Free agency disaster struck the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday, as the announced re-signing of defensive end Randy Gregory turned into a departure of the 29-year-old to the Denver Broncos. Dallas may have sights on making up for the loss with a particular eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker who, ironically, has spent nearly his entire NFL career with Denver.

Slater added that there is a "very strong interest on Miller's part in heading to Dallas" and that he has a home "very close" to the team facility. The 32-year-old is a native of DeSoto, Texas and played college football at Texas A&M before being selected by the Broncos as the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

After 11-plus years with Denver, Miller was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in November last season and ended up winning his second Super Bowl title. Among his other career accolades are an AP Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, the eight Pro Bowl nods, three All-Pro honors and a Super Bowl MVP.

In 15 games last season (seven with the Broncos and eight with the Rams), Miller recorded 50 tackles and 9.5 sacks.
