Report: Dallas Cowboys to sign LB Von Miller

It’s not a big surprise to see Von Miller join the Cowboys as his career winds down. In July, the two-time Super Bowl champion went to social media to post a photo of himself in a Cowboys jersey.

“I grew up here in Dallas,” Miller told RJ Ochoa of SB Nation in July. “I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the Dallas Cowboys. If I played for the Dallas Cowboys this year, I [would] only have to drive 20 minutes to work. This would be the first time that my mom and dad don’t have to fly to every single game. My mom has been to every single game that I’ve ever played in, and she’ll be able to drive to all the home games, and you know, I got so many family members here. My kids are here. My family is here; [my] girlfriend is here. Everybody’s here. It’d just be easy to work it out, so you never really know.

Von Miller says playing for the Cowboys would be ‘amazing’

“You know we talked about that magnetic field in College Station [when Miller played at Texas A&M]. Maybe the magnetic field here in Dallas will get me there. So I would love to play for the Dallas Cowboys, and it’d be amazing.”

Miller is entering his 15th NFL season and joining his fifth different team. He spent the 2025 season with the Washington Commanders and recorded 26 tackles, six tackles for loss and nine sacks in 17 games.

The Denver Broncos selected Miller in the first round (No. 2 overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. He spent nearly 11 seasons in Denver and helped the team win the Super Bowl in 2015. The Broncos traded Miller to the Los Angeles Rams during the 2021 season, and he won his second Super Bowl with his new team.

Miller then joined the Buffalo Bills in 2022 and was there for three seasons before signing with Washington. Along with winning two championships and being named to the Pro Bowl eight times, Miller is a Super Bowl MVP, a seven-time All-Pro selection, and a member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.
