Report: Jadeveon Clowney hires Kennard McGuire as new agent

Jadeveon Clowney has hired a new agent amid his search to sign a new NFL contract.

According to ESPN's Dianna Russini, Clowney fired Bus Cook and has hired Kennard McGuire as his new agent.

Clowney was, and still is, considered one of the top free agents on the market. There are a few reasons why he's still unsigned — one of them being his high asking price of at least $17 million per season.

Recent reports state that the New Orleans Saints are "all-in" on landing the defensive end. Clowney reportedly met with Saints coaches, including head coach Sean Payton, this week. The 27-year-old's personal chef posted a photo of her and Payton to Instagram on Friday, saying she cooked for him and Clowney.

It's no surprise the Saints now are showing interest in the 27-year-old. Wide receiver Michael Thomas lobbied for the club to sign Clowney earlier in the offseason.

The Saints aren't the only team that has shown interest in Clowney, though. The Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans were reportedly interested in him earlier this summer, but nothing materialized from that interest.

In 13 games with Seattle last season, Clowney recorded three sacks, 21 solo tackles, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 13 quarterback hits. If he signs with New Orleans, he would be joining a defensive unit that includes the likes of Cameron Jordan, Malcolm Brown, Kiko Alonso, Demario Davis and Marshon Lattimore.
