Rewatching Super Bowl LVII had Eagles HC dropping 'F-bombs'

On the doorstep of the 2023 season, head coach Nick Sirianni is still bothered by the Philadelphia Eagles' loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, which has led to some uncomfortable moments at the team's facility this offseason.

Speaking with Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia recently, Sirianni revealed that while rewatching the Super Bowl loss, he's shouted obscenities from his office, scaring others around him.

"There've been times I've been sitting in that office and an F-bomb came out of that office and like someone says, 'Is everything all right?'" Sirianni said. "'Yeah, I'm good.'"

The Eagles owned a 10-point lead at halftime over the Chiefs, but several mistakes in the second half ended any hopes of another parade down Broad Street. However, while Sirianni admitted that he'll "always be upset" by the loss, he believes revisiting it can be restorative, preaching to his players to embrace that pain and learn from it. In Sirianni's mind, accountability is crucial, and it starts with self-evaluation, like reexamining your mistakes so you can correct them.

Last season's Super Bowl loss was hard to stomach, but Sirianni and company may have a shot at redemption this season and beyond.

Ahead of the 2023 campaign, expectations are high for the Eagles to return to the Super Bowl. And while only three teams in NFL history have gone on to win the game of games the year after losing it, there's a strong belief throughout NFL circles that the Eagles are more than capable of pulling off the feat. Heading into the first week of training camp, only the defending champion Chiefs (+600) have better odds than the Eagles (+800) to win Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, per OddsChecker

Furthermore, many believe the Eagles will be contenders for years to come. Earlier this week, the Eagles were ranked first in ESPN's Future NFL Power Rankings, which grades teams on how they'll perform over the next three seasons.
