Rex Ryan Apologizes to the Houston Texans

During an Instagram live session in the locker room, Joe Mixon remarked, 'We’re smoking on that Rex Ryan bye week pack.' This comment came after the Texans’ significant victory over the Chargers. It was in response to a prediction made by former head coach and now ESPN analyst Rex Ryan, who had stated that the Chargers would win easily.

Ryan has now apologized for his words on Postseason NFL Countdown. “I can still motivate a team with the best of them with things like that. My goodness,” said Ryan. “Who had a worse day, me or Justin Herbert? You gotta tip your hat to them because that team played their absolute asses off.”

He then had some fun looking at the camera and addressing the Texans directly. “Look, if you guys were going to play like that, I would have taken you to win the Super Bowl. But I’m seeing the games going up to that one, 1-5 against playoff teams, I’m seeing all that and…I’m sorry Houston.”

Ryan concluded his remarks by joking “I’m not picking you next week either...maybe I will.”

The Texans will take on the Chiefs on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
