Richard Sherman has solution to Russell Wilson's woes

If you want to pay a quarterback $161 million guaranteed, you should watch them play once or twice.

After seeing Russell Wilson flounder in Denver, Richard Sherman, a former Pro Bowl defensive back, isn't sure if the Broncos bothered to watch one snap.

"It's almost like they didn't watch tape of him in Seattle," Sherman said of Denver's offensive struggles Wednesday on Von Miller's podcast.

Even though Sherman, Wilson's longtime teammate in Seattle, loves making subtle jabs toward his former quarterback, he has a point.

Wilson hasn't looked like a nine-time Pro Bowler in Denver. Through eight games, he's posting an 83.5 passer rating, a career low and below the league average.

Wilson's early flop has surprised many because he was a highly-regarded quarterback. Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett gave some insight into the QB's troubles: they still don't understand how to call plays for him.

"I gotta learn how to call plays for Russ," Hackett told Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer after Sunday's 21-17 victory against Jacksonville.

Perhaps Hackett admitting his startling lack of knowledge explains Denver's 3-5 skid.

On the bright side, if it's a matter of learning how Wilson plays, there's a simple solution. Go to YouTube, type "Russell Wilson Seahawks highlights" in the search bar, and watch hours of film like Sherman suggests.
