The expectations are sky high going into year two of the Coach Prime era at Colorado. Despite having to replace both coordinators, the overall talent level for the Buffaloes looks to be drastically improved.

One of those who was brought is defensive coordinator Robert Livingston, who comes to Boulder after being with the Cincinnati Bengals for the past 12 years. He inherited most of Charles Kelly's talent, which was known for making big plays but often struggled to get to the quarterback. However, that's going to be a top priority for Livingston.

“I can promise you we’ll put a product on the field that will make you proud to be there, Livingston said via CUBuffs.com. "I can promise you we’re going to do great things…you don't want to miss out. So if you’re not on the train at the beginning, there ain’t gonna be no room at the end. It’s a day by day process.

"We’re phenomenally blessed. From the moment I’ve been here, this community has been as supportive as anything I’ve ever seen. And I just can’t wait to put a product out there and be a part of something bigger than myself that all of Buff Nation can be proud of.”

Livingston also made an appearance on The Buffalo Stampede with Colorado play-by-play announcer Mark Johnson. He expressed enthusiasm about working in tandem with offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. “For me to be a small part of it and play great defense and play complimentary football with Coach Shurmur, man, I’ve known Pat forever.

"Pat’s son was on our practice squad for a couple of years in Cincinnati. So I’m just excited, it’s that time of year…this is where it starts. This is where we have to get to work. I’ve got to get to know the players, the staff and we have to come together…there’s gonna be peaks, there’s gonna be valleys like anything in life. So let’s just get ready to work.”

Livingston will try to piece it all together in a short amount of time. Colorado will take the field for the annual Black and Gold Spring Game on Saturday, April 27th.
