Rodgers throws first pass in Steelers minicamp debut

A new era is officially underway.

Aaron Rodgers threw his first pass as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday during mandatory minicamp, giving fans their first official look at the future Hall of Famer in black and gold.

Rodgers took the field at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex and to the eyes of most immediately looked the part - calm, focused, and in command.

At 41, the four-time MVP still possesses plenty of arm talent and sharp footwork, making it clear many of the physical tools remain intact as he begins this next chapter.

Though not yet participating in full team drills, Rodgers is using the week as a key orientation period — getting to know the offense, his teammates, and the building in preparation for training camp next month, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged the significance of the moment, while keeping the focus on the work ahead.

“I mean, read his resume,” Tomlin said. “We’re excited about him being here. He’s excited about being here. We’ll make no bold predictions. We’re just going to roll our sleeves up and go to work and let our efforts do the talking.”

For a Steelers team who's going on a near decade long drought since their last playoff win, getting that monkey off their back would talk loudly.

While it’s only June, this marked a symbolic shift for the franchise as Rodgers begins what could be a defining final chapter of his career.
