Russell Wilson Reacts to Seahawks' Super Bowl LX Win

The last time Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl, Russell Wilson was their starting quarterback. This was back in 2014, during Wilson’s second season in the NFL.

The Seahawks clinched their second Super Bowl title in franchise history on Sunday. They dominated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium, 29-13.

This time around, it was Sam Darnold who started under center for Seattle. The two-time Pro Bowl QB finished with 19-of-38 completed passes for 202 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions.

It was the Seahawks’ defense that ruled the day, though. Mike Macdonald’s defensive line did not give Drake Maye an inch. In fact, the Patriots scored their first points of the game at the 12:26 mark of the fourth quarter.

Wilson made the trip to Santa Clara, California, for the big game. Joining him was his wife, R&B icon Ciara, as they cheered for the Seahawks.

It has been four long years since Wilson left Seattle. After spending the first 10 seasons of his career with the Seahawks, Wilson parted ways with the organization in 2022. Seattle traded him to the Denver Broncos in a blockbuster deal.

Wilson’s time in Denver did not pan out, though. The Broncos ultimately decided to release him after two seasons, which led to the former third-round pick signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent in 2024.

Wilson had a resurgent campaign with the Steelers, earning his 10th Pro Bowl nod. In the 2025 offseason, he signed with the New York Giants on a one-year deal worth $10.5 million.

Things turned ugly again for Wilson in New York. He lost the QB1 role after 0-3 start. He was eventually relegated to a third-string quarterback behind Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston.

On Sunday, Wilson reminisced about better days with the Seahawks as he supported his former team at the Super Bowl. He posted a two-word message as Seattle took down New England.

“Go Hawks! ” the 37-year-old posted on X.

As Wilson indicated his post, the Seahawks are now officially two-time Super Bowl champions. He deserves a lot of credit for one of those two titles.

Wilson’s future in the NFL is now surrounded with uncertainty, though. His contract with the Giants has run out. The veteran QB will now need to negotiate a new deal with New York or with another team to ensure that he’s still back in the league in 2026.
