GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals’ offensive line will get a massive break ahead of its Week 1 season opener against the New Orleans Saints, as Pro-Bowl defensive end Chase Young will be out. New Orleans head coach Kellen Moore announced on Friday that Young will miss the game via a calf injury. Offensive guard Trevor Penning will also be sidelined for the home opener with a toe injury.

Saints Pro Bowler Young out vs. Cardinals:

Young stated on Thursday that he felt “good,” but he wouldn’t go any further about his condition. The former 2nd-overall pick was limited in practice for the past week, with his status for the season opener in the air. As the answer is revealed, the Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray can let out a massive sigh of relief of not having to face the 6’5 260+ pound defensive end.

For Arizona, the team will be without offensive lineman Will Herandez, who is still recovering from a torn ACL from last season and was limited in practice. Linebacker Owen Papoe and defensive tackle Dante Stills are each questionable ahead of Sunday’s game.

Arizona’s offensive line has grown into a top 10 unit in the league for its rushing attack, with its pass blocking not on par. However, the lack of the 26-year-old pass rusher, the offensive line will have a much easier introduction to the 2025 season in the Big Easy.
