Derek Carr revealed that his wife recently had a miscarriage.

On Sunday, the New Orleans Saints quarterback delivered a guest sermon at a church in Las Vegas. The 34-year-old recalled rushing his wife, Heather, to the hospital following a medical emergency.

"I don't get scared often, but I was nervous for her life," Carr said.

Although doctors told them Heather was fine, they learned she had a miscarriage. They were previously unaware that Heather was pregnant.

"We had a miscarriage, and we didn't know we had a baby," Carr said, via WDSU's Farrah Yvette. "So now we're hit with this, and this emotional toll of, 'Wait, we had a child?' And so, I don't just have four babies. We have five. One is in heaven."

Carr said the family was scheduled to travel to New Orleans before Heather's scary health situation.

"I say all that to say, let's be people that don't judge and point out and just think the worst when you don't really know what people are going through," Carr said. "Amen? And so, we've been taking care of our family. If it's going to be faith, family, football, it's going to be faith, family, football, no matter what the situation is."

Carr also publicly addressed his shoulder injury for the first time. He said he's had "constant communication" with the Saints about the issue.

The four-time Pro Bowler criticized ESPN and other media outlets for speculating about his situation. Carr added that social media has "ruined" things by enabling people to unnecessarily share uninformed opinions.

"Why do I have to continue to deal with this nonsense? What is going on?" Carr asked. "And I say that to preface with, you never really know what someone's going through."

Our condolences go out to the Carr's family for their loss.
