The offseason is always a great time to give back for players around the NFL. Embracing the city you're playing in and the people that support you on a weekly basis during the season is important for players and coaches.
One New Orleans Saints player is getting some extra recognition for precisely that.
The veteran wideout for the Saints has always enjoyed doing work in the community, no matter the team he is on around the league. This should come as no surprise, as the NFLPA highlighted Cooks this past week for his work in New Orleans.
We’re shining this week’s #CommunityMVP Friday spotlight on @thearcher for giving back to the places that shaped him! ⚜️The @saints WR teamed up with @heroesofneworleans to host a special camp with drills & fun at the Saints facility, then brought the love to Cali by welcoming hundreds of youth to his 4th annual free camp & carnival. -- NFLPA on IG
Expect Cooks to do plenty more this season to support New Orleans. He's excited to be back with the Saints, and Kellen Moore is confident that he will make a notable impact on offense this year.

The long-time NFL wideout also made comments earlier in the offseason about being a leader for the Saints in his return. He's ready to lead a talented group of receivers in black and gold.
“Learning how to approach the game from my younger years to now, approaching the game is totally different,” Cooks said. “You know more, you got more knowledge, you got more wisdom, your process of taking care of your body, doing the things that keep you on the field.”
“I think we’ve got a great room,” Cooks said. “CO and Sheed are blazing, CO can run any route, and Ced, I think we got a great room. A lot of unselfishness and I think that’s important to start off with. Guys just want to win, take care of business and let everything else handle itself.” -- Cooks via NBC Sports
We will see how productive Cooks can be for the Saints this season. No matter what - his return is off to a great start off the field.
