Saquon Barkley facing his former team, the New York Giants, would typically be a fantasy football matchup managers circle as a game to feel confident in starting him for.
However, Barkley’s recent workload in the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense leaves room for concern that managers shouldn’t feel as confident about.
In Week 8, Barkley played just 32% of Philadelphia’s offensive snaps. As the Eagles sit with a 2-6 record, if they fall behind early on they could end up limiting Barkley’s carries further and avoid risking his health in a season that is becoming hard for them to rebound from.
With Barkley also dealing with hamstring issues already, this could also lead to his role being reduced, and should lead to his output being too much of a concern to feel confident in starting him.
