Saquon Barkley's Fiancée Sends Three-Word Message After Historic Contract Extension

Saquon Barkley enjoyed arguably the best season of his seven-year NFL career in 2024, and he, his wife, Anna Congdon and his family have been rewarded for it.

After spending his first six seasons with the New York Giants, Barkley elected to join their NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, on a three-year, $37.75 million deal. And the former Penn State running back didn't disappoint in the first year in his new city.

In 16 games played, Barkley recorded 345 carries for 2,005 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was also named the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year. He capped off his impressive 2024 campaign by helping the Eagles secure a 40-22 win over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

For his performance, Philadelphia has rewarded Barkley with a two-year, $41.2 million contract extension, an average of $20.6 million per year. This marks a significant upgrade from his previous contract ($12.58 million per year).

With his new deal, Barkley now becomes the first running back in NFL history to earn $20+ million per year. Not only that, but his extension includes $15 million in incentives and a $36 million fully guaranteed signing bonus.

Shortly after Barkley received the good news, he took to Instagram to make a post in celebration of the pay raise. He used two photos, including his children, Jada and Saquon Jr., and his agent, Edward Berry.

"Overflow!" Barkley wrote on Instagram. "Grateful for the Eagles Organization , grateful for my team, grateful for the amazing fans in Philly. Fly Eagles Fly ."

Congdon certainly appears to be excited about the new deal as well, commenting, "Let Jesus cook!"

Barkley and Congdon met when they were attending Penn State together. A couple of years into their relation, they had their first kid and daughter, Jada. And in 2022, they welcomed their first son, Saquon Jr.

Barkley and Congdon dated until just before Super Bowl LIX, when the two announced that they had become engaged. It's certainly been a great start to 2025 for the Barkley family.
