Before the NFL season, Johnny -- the New York Jets Atlantic Health Systems Kid Reporter -- posed an important question to rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner:

How much ice cream will I get to eat this season?

Johnny said that whenever the Jets win, his dad takes him out for ice cream. 

"A lot of times," Gardner replied. "You'll be there a lot."

With the Jets at 4-2 and trending up -- they are ranked No. 9 by ESPN -- Johnny may indeed be dipping into dad's wallet frequently.

The New York Times Playoff Picture gives the Jets a 49 percent chance to make the playoffs, an 11 percent chance to win the division, a 4 percent chance to earn a first-round bye and a 2 percent chance to make the Super Bowl.

In dozens of statistical categories, the Jets are on an upward swing. Last year, the defense ranked 32nd, per Pro Football Reference. Improved substantially at edge and corner (Sauce!), this season's defense is ranked 18th.

Per ESPN, the Jets have outscored opponents 68-20 in the fourth quarter, the largest scoring margin in that quarter in the NFL. The 68 points in the fourth quarter lead the league. 

Besides Gardner, other 2022 NFL Draft picks are flashing talent. In a Week 7 win over Green Bay, Breece Hall rushed for 116 yards. After starting 1-2 without second-year QB Zach Wilson, the Jets have won three straight.
