Seahawks Announce Kenneth Walker III Development on Thursday

Kenneth Walker III and the Seattle Seahawks face the Tennessee Titans in Week 12. They're looking to bounce back after losing to the Los Angeles Rams 21-19 last week, which snapped a four-game winning streak.

Despite losing to Los Angeles, Walker had a solid game, leading the team in carries (16) , yards (67) and touchdowns (one). The Seahawks' biggest struggles in that game came from quarterback Sam Darnold, who threw four interceptions.

At 7-3, Seattle is second in the NFC West, sitting behind the 8-2 Rams with hopes of winning the division for the first time since 2020. Much of the team's success can be attributed to Walker, who has started all 10 games this season.

On Friday, the Seahawks announced that Walker is questionable against the Titans because of a glute injury. It was a surprising development considering he was a full participant during Wednesday and Thursday's practice.

However, after practice, head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters that Walker "should be fine" despite the designation.

The 2022 second-round pick out of Michigan State has been the Seahawks' top running back all season, leading the team in carries (136), yards (606) and is second in touchdowns (four). He's also hauled in 14 receptions for 127 yards.

Even though Walker already has an established role in the offense, Macdonald told reporters on Monday, “I think Ken’s showing that he’s earning more opportunities to get the ball," according to The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta.

The Titans already have a weak rush defense, ranking 26th in rushing yards per game allowed (134.7). Having Walker healthy and ready to play means the Seahawks can attack that weakness.

Whether or not he'll be active doesn't need to be announced until 90 minutes before kickoff. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Nissan Stadium, airing on Fox.
