Seahawks’ Anthony Bradford laughs off harsh online critics

Offensive linemen never get a lot of love. It is a thankless position, as blockers are some of the most criticized in football when they make mistakes, but they are never praised like those at the offensive skill positions or on defense. Anthony Bradford knows that fact all too well.

The Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl 60 last season, and the majority of their roster received much-deserved applause throughout the course of the year. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, for example, was hyped up as arguably the best receiver in the NFL during a brilliant season. Furthermore, Sam Darnold officially dropped the bust label and established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL during his first season in Seattle, and Kenneth Walker was awarded with hardware that will stand the test of time: the Pete Rozelle Super Bowl MVP Trophy.

Nearly any dialogue surrounding Bradford has been negative, though. The Seahawks’ starting right guard was criticized all season long last year, and that hasn’t slowed down during training camp. Numerous clips have caught the offensive linemen’s mishaps, and he was even listed by Ben Strauss as the Seahawks player most likely to lose his starting position. Bradford acknowledged that he sees the hate, but he has learned to turn the other cheek. 

“I ain’t gonna lie to you, the 1st 3 videos I’m like ‘Dang, people really taking their time out of their day to do this?’ It’s pretty funny to me. I don’t let it get to me,” Bradford told Gregg Bell. “I see everything, though.”

After an offseason in which Seattle lost a lot of key contributors, while adding very little external talent, they will need the incumbents to be at their best. Whether criticisms about Bradford are fair or not, the Seahawks need to ensure Darnold stays upright and Jadarian Price thrives as a running back after the team took him in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. That starts with the offensive line.
