Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba turned in an incredible performance in the biggest game of his career thus far. The All-Pro wideout helped lead the Seahawks to a 31-27 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC championship game with 10 receptions for 153 yards and one touchdown.
Thanks in part to Smith-Njigba’s big game, the Seahawks have now officially booked their ticket to the Super Bowl. Seattle will face Drake Maye and the New England Patriots on Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco.
This will be Smith-Njigba’s first trip to the big game. He will be looking to lead the Seahawks to just their second Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Smith-Njigba was Seattle’s driving force in the regular season. The 23-year-old played all 17 games, registering 199 catches for a league-best 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns. Smith-Njigba was named to the All-Pro first team for the first time in his career.
Smith-Njigba was relatively quiet in the Seahawks’ 41-6 blowout win over the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round. He recorded three catches for 19 yards and a TD. The former Ohio State Buckeyes star went off against the Rams, though, en route to making Seahawks franchise history.
By halftime, Smith-Njigba already had seven receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown. This prompted a historic announcement from the Seahawks via social media.
“. @Seahawks WR @jaxon_smith1 ’s 115 receiving yards are the most in either half in franchise postseason history,” Seahawks PR posted on X.

Smith-Njigba kept his foot on the gas in the second half, adding another 38 receiving yards to help lead Seattle to victory. The Rams put up a good fight, but the Seahawks held on to secure a hard-fought win at Lumen Field.
Smith-Njigba and Co. Seahawks now get two weeks off before their next game. The next time they return to the field will be at the Super Bowl against the Patriots. The Seahawks will need their star wide receiver to be at his best if they hope to bring the Vince Lombardi trophy back to Seattle for the first time since 2014.
