Seahawks Not Expected To Extend RG Anthony Bradford

While subbing for an injured Phil Haynes, Bradford started in 10 of 14 games as a rookie. Bradford then beat out Christian Haynes for the starting job in 2024, but a knee injury limited him to 11 games. He stayed healthy last year, though, and was a full-time starter on a Super Bowl-winning team that ranked third in the NFL in scoring and eighth in total offense.

Bradford played the third-most regular-season snaps among Seahawks offensive players in 2025, but Pro Football Focus rated him as the third-worst pass-blocking guard in the game. In terms of overall performance, he was just 71st among 79 qualified guards at PFF. The outlet has always been bearish on Bradford, as it also gave him poor marks in his first two years. The Seahawks have nonetheless continued to regard Bradford as their top option at right guard, but that may not be the case for much longer.

After acquiring the 148th pick from the Browns during this year’s draft, Seahawks general manager John Schneider selected former Iowa guard Beau Stephens. Although Stephens was a first-team All-American last year, the fifth-rounder does not look like an immediate threat to win the right guard job. Bradford has taken almost every snap with the starting offense in camp, per Condotta, who adds that Christian Haynes has mostly lined up with the second-stringers. Stephens has primarily gotten third-team reps.

While Stephens could eventually replace Bradford, it looks as if the Seahawks will enter the season with their Super Bowl-winning line intact. The 25-year-old Bradford is once again on track to serve as a key member of the group, but he is “likely” to reach free agency next March, Condotta reports. If he hits the open market off a solid contract year, Bradford could earn a substantial raise over his current $3.67MM salary.
