The NFL season is near, and you can tell when teams start training camp activities. The Seattle Seahawks were the first team to start things off this season, as rookies reported to camp today, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
“It begins: Seahawks rookies report to training camp today. In 11 days, all 32 NFL teams will be in camp. 20 days to the hall of fame game. 54 days to kickoff in Seattle,” Pelissero wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The Seahawks may be getting things started early as they’re the first team on the schedule, facing the New England Patriots on Sept. 9. It’ll be a Super Bowl rematch between the two, and both teams will look different than they did in February.
The Seahawks will be looking to make it back-to-back championships this season, but it won’t be that easy. They’ll first have to worry about their division, which got stronger with the additions of the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers. The good thing is that Mike Macdonald couldn’t care less about what they did and is focused on how his team performs this season.
“Yeah, I don’t care,” Macdonald said. “Don’t care. If you start worrying about what everybody else is doing, it’s just mentally taxing. It’s so much easier if you don’t. Let’s just worry about the Seahawks and being the best version of ourselves and getting better every day,” Macdonald said via Vic Tafur of The Athletic.
The Seahawks pretty much have the same roster from last season, with a few additions and subtractions. The biggest loss they suffered was Kenneth Walker III, who won Super Bowl MVP and departed to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs. They also lost offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, as he’s now the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
