Seahawks rookie’s season is over after a brutal injury

The Seattle Seahawks selected Bud Clark in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, but he will have to wait until 2027 to make his regular-season debut.

Clark suffered a broken ankle in the second preseason game on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. On Tuesday, the team announced that Clark will miss the entire season.

Offensive lineman Mason Richman was also placed on IR after suffering an injury.

Clark’s injury came on the first defensive snap of the game, and he proceeded to be carted off the field.

After the game, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said that Clark would be out “multiple months” due to the injury, but things took a turn for the worse as he will now miss the entire season.

Clark played six seasons at TCU and finished his career with 15 interceptions. He was a team captain for the final three seasons, and he was expected to play a key role in the secondary.

The Seahawks begin the regular season on Wednesday, September 9, against the New England Patriots in a Super Bowl rematch at Lumen Field.
