Seahawks sign veteran DB Damarious Randall to practice squad

The Seattle Seahawks announced on Wednesday that they signed veteran defensive back Damarious Randall to their practice squad. 

Randall, who turned 28 in late August, was released by the Las Vegas Raiders on Sept. 4 even though they owed him $1.5 million in guaranteed money. Las Vegas completed the transaction, in part, because that cash would be offset if Randall joined a different club.

The Green Bay Packers selected Randall in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, and he spent three seasons with that organization before joining the Cleveland Browns via a March 2018 trade. In 11 appearances with Cleveland last year, Randall tallied 2.5 sacks, 61 total tackles and six passes defended. 

Also on Wednesday, Seattle signed defensive back Ryan Neal to the 53-man roster and added linebacker Tim Williams to the practice squad. 

As Brady Henderson noted for ESPN, multiple members of the club's secondary, including starters Quinton Dunbar (knee) and Jamal Adams (groin strain), are dealing with injuries.
