Sean McVay on returning to coach Rams in 2022: 'We'll see'

Sean McVay became the youngest head coach ever to win a Super Bowl on Sunday when he led the Los Angeles Rams to a 23-20 win against the Cincinnati Bengals. But was it his last game with the Rams? He's not ready to say yet.

"We'll see," McVay said when asked by the Los Angeles Times if he'd be back next season.

“I’m just enjoying this moment right now," McVay said when pressed about the possibility of a career on television. "I’m really happy to be a part of this. Happy for that.”

McVay, 34, fueled talks of an early retirement just ahead of Super Bowl LVI when he told reporters he's not interested in a long coaching career and that he wants to have a family. According to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry, McVay has weighed the possibility of walking away from coaching to become a television analyst.

The New York Post reported in August 2020 that ESPN approached McVay about joining Monday Night Football. Last week, the Post reported again that television executives have their eye on McVay.

McVay has been the Rams' coach since 2017 and has led the team to a 55-26 regular season record and 7-3 record in postseason play.
